Mallory Clites

Mallory Clites is a PhD candidate in the department of Materials Science and Engineering working under Dr. Ekaterina Pomerantseva. Her research focuses on the synthesis of new, high performance cathode materials for Li-ion and beyond-Li ion-based batteries. Mallory will be continuing her PhD research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, TN for five months as part of the DOE Office of Science’s Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program. There, Mallory will work within the Physical Chemistry of Materials Group to investigate the electrochemical performance of vanadium oxide cathodes in ion-based batteries through in situ neutron scattering measurements.

Mallory received her B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in 2014 from the University of Maryland, where she researched the electrochemical behavior of double-doped solid-state electrolytes for fuel cells. Mallory is currently the president of Drexel’s Electrochemical Society (ECS) student chapter and a member of Drexel’s chapter of the Alpha Sigma Mu Materials Engineering Honors Society.
